Architecture at Zero is an international design competition focusing on decarbonization, equity, and resilience. It is open to students and professionals in the fields of architecture, design, engineering, and planning who are interested in sustainable design.
The 2024 competition is to design a new building on a middle school campus in East Los Angeles (East LA), California. This new building will include classrooms, science labs, an art classroom, a maker space, outdoor learning environments, and a teacher workroom. Even though the competition program location is presented as Griffith STEAM Magnet Middle School, the competition itself is an ideas competition, so there will not be a “real” project.
The deadline for entries is December 16, 2024.
Up to $25,000 in prize money will be awarded to professional and student entries.
You can check the details of the competition and download the competition documents from the competition’s website.
