SPACE Studies announces the Keynote Speaker for International Conference 2019 on Architectural Culture and Society: Dr Michael E Leary-Owhin

SPACE Studies is happy to announce that their Keynote Speaker for SPACE International Conference 2019 on Architectural Culture and Society will be Dr Michael E Leary-Owhin (Course Director MA Planning Policy and Practice, School of Law and Social Sciences, London South Bank University).

Michael Leary-Owhin, PhD, MRTPI, FRSA, has an international reputation in the fields of urban planning and regeneration. He has carried out funded research and published widely. He has over thirty years’ experience in the field and has practiced in the public and private sectors, recently giving expert witness evidence at a major urban regeneration public inquiry in the UK. He sits on the board of several academic journals and is the author of numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, the co-editor of The Routledge Companion to Urban Regeneration and the author of the (2016) research monograph Exploring the Production of Urban Space. He regularly chairs sessions and presents papers at major international conferences. He is co-editor of The Routledge Handbook of Henri Lefebvre, the City and Urban Society (2020).He is now an independent academic, researcher and consultant after having spent over three decades in the public university sector in the UK.
